Wednesday Adoption Fact - Week # 51

What has been going on in our little adoption world? Not much, but then quite a bit. Met some interesting people that are in the process or have been adopting out of the same orphanage we will be adopting from. I met a lady just at our next door country in Austria that has about the exact time frame we have (about 5 days off). How neat. There's several others and one lady established a facebook group for people that ever had anything to do with that orphanage. Another adoption friend of mine (S., we both traveled to Vietnam together to pick up our daughters), really perplexed me by one of her last e-mails in where she wrote:
" Sorry to hear that the wait in .............is so unpredictable, but even at the longest the time line sounds pretty good.." - Ahwww, how did she know - i tried to keep it secret until we get a referral. Am i that obvious?? LOL
Got an e-mail from our agency asking to reschedule our next "preparing for Referral and Travel" Class by a day or two. No biggie.

COUNTRY FACT

The country has a rainy season and Everything (including courts) close down for 6-10 weeks. If you happen to get a referral in the spring you may have to wait through the summer season until the rain has cleared up. Can be frustrating I think, but since we don't have a referral and probably wont' get one for another few months, that wont affect us. The rainy season is usually from mid-June through mid September. Above a pic of the country we're adopting from - makes sense that there's not a whole lot of traveling going on during that time and the electricity constantly shuts down, that's another main reason they don't have any court hearings - WOW, unimaginable for us westerners, isn't' it?

The laugh is going to be on me if I guessed wrong. It is hard to imagine things just shutting down due to weather. We're so lucky to not have to deal with that. Glad to hear it shouldn't affect your timeline!

It's great that you have met friends on the same time line. As you know, they can be your saving grace.
I cannot wait for your referral!!
