And OFF it goes. Tuesday evening we received our immigration approval and today (Wednesday 13th 2009) we got all of our documents notarized. So we're officially paper pregnant, right? When are you paper pregnant, once your dossier is sent off, right? Anyhow, we had a longer talk with our agency last night addressing a few issues. Obviously there's quite a bit of adoption corruption going on in our adoption country right now. I was afraid it will take the same lead as Vietnam, which closed very quickly since there was no stop to the adoption fraud and people could not get a handle on it. As for now, things are still going smooth and it was actually NOT agencies that caused these ethical concerns, but the local police that forged papers. Mainly that fraud is happening in the capitol of that country, and as our agency assured us last night, their orphanage has not accepted cases (abandoned or relinquished) from the capitol in many years, since those frauds have been going on for a while in that big city.
We also received a current time line:
*Authentication process 2-4 weeks
*Wait for referral 4-6 months (average, could be shorter could be longer)
*2-5 months until travel
So all in all we're looking at a realistic time frame at around end of this year beginning of next, when we should be HOME with our new "maybe-baby" (our social worker likes to call the children/babies that way until the adoption is completely finished - makes sense).

Finally! Our Dossier is finished after almost 10 months!!!
